R&D
OMEGA's engineer

The very rapid changes in microelectronic technologies and new detectors require a very active technology watch within the Laboratory. OMEGA is a partner in the European AIDAINOVA R&D project for future detectors, in the CALICE*, FCC (Future Circular Collider) and RD112 collaborations at BNL (Brookhaven National Laboratory). It is very important for the development of new chips to be in close contact with the instrumentalist physicists who develop future detectors in order to optimize both the detector and its reading electronics. OMEGA also carries out its own upstream R&D to have new and better performing circuits and to advance the state of the art in the field, these R&Ds are often pursued by the PhD students of the Laboratory.
