LADOC
The calibration board is used to inter-calibrate the 200 000 readout channels of the the ATLAS Liquid Argon (LAr) and measures their three gains. Thus, each calibration channel must generate accurate pulses to simulate the detector signal over the full 16 bit dynamic range. It is based upon a 0.1% precision DC current sources (LADOC) and HF switches (CLAROC) which transform the DC current into fast pulses (Rise time below 1ns) with a 400 ns exponential decay.
The chip, named LADOC has been designed in TSMC 130nm technology to equip these calibration boards. It contains a 16-bit current DAC which allows to generate a precise DC current from 1 μA to 320mA.
